Missiles & Space Latch Valves

Description

Latch valves are solenoid valves that offer bi-stable valve operation by utilizing a permanent magnet to maintain the valve in both the open and closed position while under pressure. This eliminates the need for electrical power to hold the valve open or closed, saving precious power in solar-powered spacecraft applications. Titanium and CRES body material with operating pressures to 10,000 PSIG are available, making them suitable for propellants, as well as gases for pressurization.

Application

Latch valves have applications in propellant and pressurant isolation in spacecraft and launch vehicle propulsion systems. They are available in single coil versions to either magnetically hold open or hold closed, or dual coil versions to both magnetically hold open and hold closed. Available options include mechanical position indication.
