Aircraft Engine Bleed Air Valves

Description

Specialty pilot-operated solenoid valves are available in 2-way normally-closed or normally-open configurations designed to control hot engine bleed air at temperatures to 900°F and pressures to 275 PSIG. We also offer a pressure regulator for engine bleed air applications.

Application

Engine bleed air is used for several applications onboard an aircraft. Robustly designed for the high temperatures found in this service, our valves provide dependable control over tens of thousands of flight hours. Applications include systems for engine, wing and tail unit anti-icing, potable water pressurization and environmental control. These valves are also used in conjunction with our line of On-Board Inert Gas Generating Systems (OBIGGS) used for inerting the ullage in fuel tanks.

Design Features and Benefits

  • Floating seal design for long life
  • Position indication (mechanical switches, magnetic, etc.)
  • Extensive material (body and seal) options
  • Poppet style valves designed for high vibration environments that offer tight leakage
  • Piloted designs available for low weight, lower power, high capacity requirements
