Job Title Quality Inspector / Calibrator
Location Springfield, NJ
Work Schedule 7:30am – 4pm, M-F, Overtime as Required

Report To Supervisor, Q.C.
Job Summary Under minimum supervision performs all the duties of Inspector A, and the inspection of any parts and assemblies, calibration of inspection measuring gauges and inspection equipment. Uses all types of precision instruments.
Essential Functions
  • Applies knowledge of all manufacturing and sub-assembly operations.
  • Applies understanding of all tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Writes inspection reports and maintains accurate records. Coordinates work with other personnel, and sets up inspection gauges for other inspectors.
  • May assist in the training of other inspectors.
  • Follows written calibration procedures and makes calibration reports.
  • May be required to set up and maintain statistical quality control charts and procedures as directed by Quality Assurance.
  • Monitors gauge requests/requirements at suppliers.
  • Requires the use of shop mathematics, and knowledge of Company products and quality procedures.
  • Moves gauges and metrology materials to and from work area.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
  • Must pass required eye tests.
  • May be required to perform other duties as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and related work experience in mechanical inspections and calibrations.
  • Requires six years experience at the Inspector A level plus at least 2 years of demonstrated calibration experience and acceptable performance of the required operations.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Requisite Skills Required
  • Should have working knowledge of Calibration Tracking Software (Gage Track)
  • Must be able to Calibrate Mechanical, Fluid, Pressure and Electrical gauges and tooling
  • Interacts with all Departments in the Facility
Equipment/Machinery Used
  • As described in Inspector A job descripiton.
  • Expereience in using basic and advanced calibration tools, inspection tools and guages, plus experience with CMM and other currently used inspection equipment.
Physical Requirements Lifting up to 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
