Summary

The Test Engineer or Senior Test Technician will have some experience in designing, building and operating pneumatic test equipment in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for aircraft pneumatic components and subsystems to include creating, controlling and measuring temperature, pressure and flow in the test equipment and in the end product. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of pneumatic pumps, valves, chillers, heaters, accumulators, piping, tubing, ducts and heat exchangers as well as electrical motors and torque and force measurement equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Experience with automated and/or computer control of test equipment
    • Motor-controlled and solenoid-controlled valves
    • National Instruments Data Acquisition (DAQ) experience preferred
    • Labview control software experience preferred
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (Oscilloscopes, meters, sensors, etc.)
  • Good skills at calculating pressure and flow within a pneumatic system
  • Good skills at sizing equipment for torque, temperature, pressure and flow requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Moves parts to and from work area
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area and must adhere to all safety regulations and best practices
  • May be required to perform other duties as directed by supervision
Minimum Qualifications
  • BME and 2 years experience with designing, building or operating test equipment
  • OR
  • Highschool Diploma (or GED) and a Technical Certificate and 8 years experience building or operating test equipment
Requisite Skills Required Operating electrical and pneumatic test equipment. Operating data acquisition (DAQ) systems. Using Microsoft Office software.
Equipment / Machinery Used Electrical and pneumatic test equipment. Personal Computer.
Physical Requirements Lifting up to 25lbs regularly and 70lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
