Compensation $100,000-125,000; depending on experience; plus performance bonus program based on meeting a combination of Company sales performance and operating income targets, as well as, Product Line targets and Personal objectives.
Experience Required

Experience in aerospace fluid controls design, project engineering, applications engineering, field sales, customer service, program management and contracts preferred. The candidate must demonstrate strong presentation skills, excellent written communication skills and the ability to deal with a variety of people, cultures and business situations.

Accountability

Primary responsibilities include: applications engineering, technical and commercial proposal generation/management and establishing close customer relationships. Secondary responsibilities include: sales forecasting support, field service support, product pricing support and customer in-house visit support.

Essential Functions
  • Produces new orders through the production of high quality proposals; establishment of close customer support, an understanding of the company’s existing and new product development programs, and providing the best level of overall program management possible during the initial contact and proposal stages.
  • Utilizes all resources available within the Sales Department to support internal customers and team members, such as Engineering, Contracts and Operations in their goal of providing excellent customer service
  • Assists in the development of sales forecasts, bookings forecasts, strategic plans, market assessments, product analyses and other sales/marketing oriented analyses
  • Manages department resources to provide the highest quality and efficient output at the lowest expenditure of time and cost. Resources include manpower, travel, tools (hardware and software) and administrative work
  • Maintains a manner, appearance and attitude representative of a key middle management point of contact for a customer within Valcor
  • Keeps abreast of new developments within the industry, customers, competitors, government and economics; and presents and utilizes this information for the furtherance of Valcor business development and product sales
  • Supervises the production of technical, commercial and management proposals in response to customer RFIs, RFQs and RFPs
  • Provides recommendations to senior staff concerning procedures, personnel, equipment or other improvements that may better the overall effectiveness of the Company
  • Works within the team to ensure accurate and timely response to customer requirements
Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or aeronautical with a minimum of five years experience in the Aircraft or Space industries. A degree in a technical or scientific field such as physics, aviation or mathematics would be acceptable if the candidate has demonstrated exceptional product or field sales experience.

Relationships

Heavy contact with existing and potential customers to close sales orders, develop business relationships and provide customer support. Work closely with engineering, contracts and operations managers and personnel.
